Shipping Belongings to Smith

Mail Services, located on the garden level of the Julia McWilliams Child ’34 Campus Center, is the centralized location for all incoming student mail and packages at Smith College.

Each student is assigned a four-digit Student Unit Number, which is required for all mail and package deliveries. Students will receive their assigned number and detailed instructions by email prior to arrival.

All incoming letters and packages must be addressed as follows:

[Your Name]
Smith College
1 Chapin Way, Unit #[Your Assigned Unit Number]
Northampton, MA 01063

Please do not include “PO Box” in the address. Letters and packages should not arrive earlier than five days prior to your arrival on campus.

All student mail is processed by Mail Services. When a letter or package is received, students will receive an email notification at their Smith College email address indicating that the item is being prepared for pickup. Please allow up to two hours for processing and placement into a locker. During peak periods, such as the beginning of the academic year, processing may take up to one business day.

Letters and packages may be collected at the pick-up window or from self-service lockers, depending on the item. If a package is placed in a locker, a second email will be sent with pickup instructions, locker details, and a QR code for retrieval. Lockers are located next to the pick-up window.

To pick up mail at the pick-up window, students must present their Smith College OneCard and Student Unit Number.

If you have any questions, please contact mail services at mailservices@smith.edu.
