PsychologyToday
- PsychologyToday lists a range of private practice providers throughout the country. You can do a search based on your local area. You can also do a broader search within the state where you are located and look for therapists that provide telehealth. If you are based in Northampton, or want your search to include all of Massachusetts, click on the links.
- Feel free to play with the filters to look based on your insurance, identity markers that are important to you, clinical speciality, and different geographic areas.
- Each therapist will not be able to accept all insurances and some may be cash-based.
- Some may be full to new clients, however you can email each one directly right through their profile on this one website.
Finding a Therapist Through Your Insurance
- If you have the insurance provided by the college (BCBS), you can use the Gallagher Student app to help find providers.
- If you have another insurance, go to your insurance company’s website and search for “behavioral health provider”
Finding a Psychiatric Provider
Either contact one of the clinics listed below, or search for psychiatrists in Northampton or Springfield.
Helpful Tips
- Your PCP may be able to review many mental health medications. Reach out to them first to see if they can fill your prescriptions.
- Make an appointment early to make sure you don’t run out of your medications. It’s important not to wait until you are almost out!
- Students are responsible for all costs not covered by insurance. Students may apply for funding assistance to cover the cost of medical expenses, but only after exploring in-network options with insurance.
