Arrival & Central Check-In

Central Check-In (CCI) is your first stop when you arrive on campus for Orientation. During CCI, you will check in with the registrar, receive an information packet and your student ID (OneCard), complete forms as necessary, and receive your room key. You and your family will be able to meet representatives from offices on campus as well as community partners who offer valuable services to students. You must complete this process before you proceed to your house.

Checking In

Please arrive on time. If you experience delays in your travel, notify the Office of Residence Life at reslife@smith.edu as soon as possible to receive further guidance about late check-in. You may not arrive earlier than CCI unless otherwise instructed.

Parking & Transportation

During CCI, parking is permitted in all legal parking spaces on campus. You may visit the online interactive campus map to find parking lots. In the interior of the quad, visitors are asked to limit their parking to 15 minutes to allow others to unload.

Please note that parking spaces with a meter will require payment. Metered parking is managed by the City of Northampton and can be paid using the Parkmobile app.

During CCI, some meters will be “bagged” with signs that indicate parking there is free, in which case no payment is required. In bagged meter spaces, visitors are asked to limit their parking to 15 minutes to allow others to unload.

Smith College does not offer or subsidize airport shuttle service during move-in. The City of Northampton maintains a list of transportation options available in this area.
