Biography

Peter Sapira (he/him) is a writing instructor at the Jacobson Center. He currently teaches WRT 118, Writing About Humor and WRT 132, Public Speaking. He is also the academic director of the Creative Writing Workshop and College Readiness through the Precollege Programs.  

Peter Sapira received his bachelor of arts in English from San Francisco State University and his master of fine arts in English from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is a certified social justice mediator and TESOL instructor. He has published short stories in Anarchy, Inkwell, The Carolina Review, The Black River Review, The Literary Review and Pleiades. Folio Literary Management currently represents his first novel, Billy Hill. He has also had short films shown at The Houston Comedy Film Festival, The Georgia Comedy Film Festival, and The Portland Comedy Film Festival among others. He also plays the drums.
