Meridians 25th Anniversary Symposium - Panel Sessions

The Neilson Browsing Room will host four thematic author panels as part of the Meridians 25th Anniversary Symposium. Each session brings together contributors from across the journal’s 25-year history to reflect on key topics in intersectional feminist scholarship:

<strong data-start="572" data-end="639">10:00–11:15 AM – Panel 1: <em data-start="600" data-end="637">Transnational Feminist Solidarities<br data-start="639" data-end="642" />Authors will explore the evolving landscape of transnational feminist thought, focusing on coalitional politics, Third World feminism, and cultural curation as forms of solidarity.

<strong data-start="828" data-end="877">11:30 AM–12:45 PM – Panel 2: <em data-start="859" data-end="875">Representation<br data-start="877" data-end="880" />This panel centers on the politics of representation in media and activism, highlighting documentary film, feminist organizing, and the visual framing of resistance.

<strong data-start="1051" data-end="1096">2:45–4:15 PM – Panel 3: <em data-start="1077" data-end="1094">Body Politic(s)<br data-start="1096" data-end="1099" />Scholars discuss body politics through lenses of race, gender, colonialism, and diaspora, interrogating beauty standards, cultural expression, and intergenerational resistance.

<strong data-start="1281" data-end="1321">4:30–6:15 PM – Panel 4: <em data-start="1307" data-end="1319">Literature<br data-start="1321" data-end="1324" />Featuring literary critics and cultural theorists, this panel delves into memory, genre, translation, and feminist poetics in literature by and about women of color.

Each panel will be moderated and followed by audience engagement. All panels will be livestreamed via Zoom webinar. Light refreshments will be available in the morning.
